Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Medical Oncology | Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - Military Veterans

We are seeking a highly motivated Post d octoral Research Fellow to join our scientific research team in the Department of Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) . The Hahn Laboratory stud ies mechanism s of cancer initiation and progression as well as development of novel therapeutic targets. We use genome scale systematic approaches to d iscover cancer-specific genetic vulnerabilities & d ecipher molecular pathways underlying cellular transformation and therapeutic resistance. Technical proficiency , scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.? Design, conduct, and troubleshoot hypothesis-testing experiments.? Design, conduct, and validate high-throughput, hypothesis-generating screens.? Mentoring of research technicians and undergraduate students .? Maintain detailed and understandable lab notebooks and records .? Interpret , discuss and present research findings with lab members and the principal investigator.? Use computational approaches to analyze complex data sets, including next generation sequencing data sets, and/or effectively collaborate with computational biologists.? Develop figures to depict research findings, write research and review papers, and present at scientific meetings . PhD or MD/PhD with concentration in molecular biology, cellular biology, cancer biology, computational cancer genomics or related discipline. Mammalian c ell line and organoid culturing techniques . Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques . Self-motivation , collaborative spirit and ability to work in a group setting. Able to write scientific reports and present scientific findings.
