What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 28, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

In the role of a VOTools and Automation intern, the intern will:
- Collaborate with Tools and Automation team Software developers, stakeholders (Video Engineers) and leadership.
- Be part of design, develop, troubleshoot and contribute to a high quality deliverable during the internship program, through learning / enhancing their skills.
- Bring new ideas/perspective to the team.
Here’s what it takes to get started
Required qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2025 - May 2026
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for Charter Sponsorship
Preferred qualifications
- Collaborate with Software developers, stakeholders (Video Engineers) and leadership
- Understanding of phases of Software development life cycle
- Knowledge of / experience in one or more languages - Python, Django, Javsascipt frameworks (vuejs, nodejs etc), Ruby
- Knowledge of / experience in one or more SQL / No SQL databases - Postgres, Mongo. Knowledge of / experience in ETL concepts
- Knowledge of / experience in Linux / Unix OS and Dev Ops processes
- Knowledge of / experience in code versioning tools like git
- Knowledge of / experience in any code editors VSCode / IntelliJ / Vi editor
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Oral and written skills
- Organizational skills
- Problem solving abilities
- Proficient in Software including Adobe, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word

The base pay for this position generally is between $26.00 and $27.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
