Job Summary and Qualifications
The Disaster Recovery Administrator II is responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and testing of various IT disaster recovery scenarios. They will help identify the organization’s exposure to internal and external threats. They will help develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and programs for ensuring the security and integrity of HCA Healthcare’s information systems and technology. They will assist in providing risk management analysis and will help drive and maintain IT business continuity plans and IT disaster recovery plans. They will consult with various IT product and business owners to ensure that any system design is taking into account an appropriate disaster recovery solution.
The Disaster Recovery Administrator - II will work with our BC/DR consultants to ensure HCA Healthcare’s disaster recovery program is meeting our IT security standards and meeting the needs of our key stakeholders.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Educate and assist business and application owners on the appropriate assessment of their applications
- Work with consultants to recommend recovery strategies and options
- Coordinate, plan, and execute on-prem disaster recovery exercises
- Assist in designing solutions that address needs based on the criticality of the application
- Establish and maintains solid business relationships
- Assist in designing solutions that address identified threats and gaps
- Educate and train technical and business teams on roles and responsibilities in disaster response and planning
- Help define and document application dependencies
- Work with team to drive process improvement to improve our overall disaster recovery posture
- Decommission applications as needed
- Provides afterhours/on-call support as needed
- Has the ability resolve simple to moderately complex disaster recovery issues
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems - Preferred
EXPERIENCE
1 or more years of experience in a Disaster Recovery role - Preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
OTHER SKILLS
- High level of knowledge in disaster recovery and business continuity - Preferred
- Moderate technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and their interdependencies - Required
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate diverse groups of people in a problem-solving environment - Preferred
- Strong problem and issue resolution experience - Required
- Ability to meet deadlines and set clear expectations - Required
- Ability to work with diverse technical and non-technical teams - Required
- Ability to implement recovery strategies between complex applications - Preferred
- Ability to work independently and work effectively under a high pressure and demanding work environment - Required
