The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholars and Medical Student Coordinator will help coordinate the AHEC Scholars program, which includes working with thirteen different AHEC Centers. Also, this person would also be coordinating with the medical students from Family Medicine. Applies acquired skills and process and policy knowledge to support undergraduate medical education for the FAMILY & COMMUNITY MEDICINE department, AHEC, faculty and medical students. Coordinates AHEC Scholars program, scheduling, monitoring databases, tracking, recruitment, evaluations and compliance. Reviews, approves and/or denies all AHEC scholar applications using provided criteria. Coordinates medical student orientation, schedules and evaluations. Responds to requests from the Office of Medical Education (OME). Involves designing, conducting, promoting, evaluating and supporting health professions education programs in compliance with organizational objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and requirements. Supports learners (including but not limited to AHEC faculty, Residents, clinical fellows, graduate or undergraduate learners, practicing or licensed professionals) in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, core competencies, assessment and evaluations. Coordinates all activities associated with ongoing administration of health professions education programs.
