The Department of Global and Environmental Health at the School of Global Public Health, New York University, is seeking applicants for a three-year renewable non-tenure track, fully-funded faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. Candidates are expected to have: (1) a doctoral degree (e.g, PhD, DrPH, MD) in an area related to global and/or environmental public health; (2) teaching experience in global and/or public environmental health; and (3) experience in global and/or environmental public health in the public or private sectors (e.g., desk-based or field-based research, analysis, advocacy, capacity strengthening, management). New York University (NYU) is among the highest-ranked private universities in the United States. The Department of Global and Environmental Health is a recently established department that is undergoing rapid expansion, with a newly appointed chair. Its growing faculty includes eight full-time members who are world leaders in the health impact of climate change and environmental pollution, urban health, global health policy, public health entrepreneurship, geospatial modelling, infectious disease modelling, economic evaluation and implementation research. The Department offers face-to-face and online MPH degrees with concentrations in Global Health and in Environmental Public Health, as well as a range of executive short courses. Due to increasing student numbers, we are seeking a candidate with prior teaching/training experience and demonstrated effectiveness as an educator in an area that will complement the existing educational offer. Climate change is an area of growing demand from students and employers, so candidates with work and/or teaching experience in this area will be of particular interest. We are seeking to fill the position of non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor with an emphasis in teaching. This is a 3-year appointment, ideally starting in September 2025. The candidate is expected to engage in teaching primarily (including curriculum development and advising students), and also in research and service. A successful candidate will be able to collaborate with existing faculty in the School and the Department to further develop graduate and professional-level degree programs. Contracts are renewable based on successful performance. The School offers academic degrees at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. A key focus for the successful candidate will be further developing the CEPH-accredited Master of Public Health degree, which allows students to obtain an MPH in one of nine concentrations, including Global Health and Environmental Public Health. NYU has an extensive global network of teaching and research sites throughout the world. These sites include three portal campuses and 11 global academic centers in Africa, South America, China, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. This unique arrangement allows faculty to establish training and degree programs as well as research efforts worldwide; offer faculty and students truly unique opportunities to engage in their research and study around the world; and inform public health practice both locally and globally through the exchange of knowledge. In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $ 112,000-$152,000. This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months OR for 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
