The School of Mathematics in the University of Minnesota invites applications for multiple open postdoctoral positions starting Fall semester 2024. We seek candidates with a record of excellence in the mathematical sciences. Applications are being taken through MathJobs.org .
(50%) Research:
- Conduct high quality research and disseminate the results through publications and invited talks and conferences.
- Participate in the research mission of the department, especially through interaction with faculty and students.
- Participate in and organize research seminars.
(40%) Teaching:
- Develop and teach up to three courses per academic year. Possible assignments range from introductory to advanced undergraduate and even occasionally graduate level classes.
- Advise students regarding both specific coursework and broader academic or career goals. Opportunities exist to advise undergraduate students in directed reading or project-based courses.
(10%) Training, Outreach and Service:
- Engage with departmental student organizations at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
- Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise.
- Contribute to outreach activities that support the department's mission.
Required Qualifications:
- Applicants should possess a Ph.D or equivalent degree in mathematics or a closely related field.
