Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand job tickets to determine size and quantity of sheets required and understand the appropriate ink colors to use
  • Verifies with the second pressman that the ink supplied matches the ink / customer specs
  • Adjust printing units for proper control and register
  • Mounts plates on the press
  • Makes the necessary ink and water adjustments on the press
  • Understands the controls of the console and auxiliary controls for the operating systems
  • Direct and perform maintenance on the equipment
  • Continually checks quality of work to ensure customer specs are met
  • Completes production and quality reports
  • Direct crew for optimum production, quality and safety
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager, supervisor or lead

Job Requirements:
  • Previous printing press experience
  • Good communication and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. occasionally, 75 lbs. rarely
  • Stand for at least 8 hours a day
  • Work overtime to cover vacation and/or absences
  • Bend, twist, kneel throughout shift
  • Use densitometer and know how to read it
  • Use hands to grasp, pull and push
  • Work at or below shoulder level
