The Role:
This position will be part of our Analytical Service group. As the LIMS Scientist, you will lead the development and implementation of Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS for the Advanced Material Handling (AMH) business team for the new Colorado Springs, CO Rockrimmon plant as well as maintain current Labware LIMS for all network AMH facilities. This key role will focus on design, configure customize and implement the SampleManager system for the AMH business. The person will create and maintain procedures as well as provide support and training to staff members to use both LIMS system. This position will ensure that the SampleManager LIMS meets all business and operational requirements.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide LIMS implementation and administration of the Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS system.
- Work with other divisional LIMS teams on an existing system/architecture to understand master data and business processes.
- Design, configure, customize and implement the SampleManager LIMS for AMH business.
- Support laboratory operations to include, but not limited to, systems analysis, process & procedure creation, customized reports, modifications, user account management, barcode/printer management, and upkeep of systems administration tasks. Managing user requests, maintaining a validated state, processing access requests, and working with the business to troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with management and other IT staff on business requirements to ensure adequate infrastructure support to lab systems including all upgrades to hardware and software.
- Lead and oversee development of Standard Operating Procedures, User Guides, and other relevant documentation for the LIMS.
- Manage effective data exchange between LIMS and all lab instruments and other associated systems customizing code and parsing scripts code to accommodate data exchange.
- Develop and implement future software enhancements.
- Provide LIMS training to staffs and customers.
- Strong organizing skills and be able to work on multiple tasks/projects in parallel.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in a science or engineering related field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years working experience (BS)/3 years working experience (MS) in LIMS related fields.
- Knowledge and acquaintance of SampleManager LIMS system implementation, enhancement, and administration with skills and knowledge in Labware LIMS preferred.
- Independent problem solver and can work with cross functional teams for SampleManager LIMS implementation.
- Ability to design and create LIMS procedures and application to enhance laboratory operations.
- Can develop project plan with limited supervision. Can coordinate activities with other groups to execute the project plan.
- Demonstrated the successful LIMS implementation and or development of projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet client and internal demands under tight timelines.

- Salary is in the $105,000-$118,000/annually with actual pay dependent on individual skill for role.
