The Foundation for Cross-Connection Control and Hydraulic Research in the Viterbi School of Engineering is seeking an Associate Engineer to join its research team. Under the direction of the Project Administrator, this position will support the daily equipment and system needs. The core job duties are: Sets up assembles and installs equipment, parts, measurement systems and instrumentation to research, test and evaluate the backflow prevention assemblies and other hydraulic equipment. Operates and maintains standard equipment, instrumentation and measurement systems that research, test and evaluate the backflow prevention assemblies and other hydraulic equipment. Demonstrates and instructs in the operation of equipment, measurements systems and instrumentation used to research, test and evaluate the backflow prevention assemblies and other hydraulic equipment to students and visitors. Provides direction and oversees the students participating in the research, test and evaluation of the backflow prevention assemblies and other hydraulic equipment. Records test data and may prepare standard reports, charts or graphs to reflect results and performs routine analysis to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of data and test results for the research, test and evaluation of the backflow prevention assemblies and other hydraulic equipment. Oversees the process of complaints that are received on the backflow prevention assemblies. Sets up assembles and installs, as needed, the backflow prevention assemblies needed for the Course for the Training of Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers. Prepares status reports on the overall progress of activities such the laboratory evaluation, the complaints of the assemblies and the equipment used in the Tester Training Course. Assists with the Course for the Training of Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the mission of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Additional Information: This is an onsite position at USCs University Park Campus located in Los Angeles, California. This position is not eligible for remote work. The hourly rate range for this position is $25.75 - $29.15.
