Job Duties:
Develop products through all phases of the software development cycle. Provide the full stack software prototyping and development support needed by the Digital & Innovation (D&I) division to enable it to rapidly explore new ways of making USP’s data and knowledge available to stakeholders. Design and implement core backend services and cloud capabilities. Develop multiple fast-moving projects effectively in parallel at different stages of their development life cycle. Use iterative and agile approaches to software development with relevant D&I and IT staff. Implement prototype applications/software components to assess interest, utility, and feasibility of scale-up. Implement developer best practices. Telecommuting Permitted.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any) or related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related software development position.
Must have two (2) years of experience with each:
- Designing, developing, and implementing Web Applications in Client/Server environments using Java/J2EE;
- Troubleshooting issues/bugs related to front end (HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript), back end (Java, Servlets, JSP);
- Deploying application to the servers and monitor its performance from logs;
- Preparing Technical Design and User Training Documents; and
Performing code/peer reviews before committing the changes to master branch; make suggestions for better code and design practices focusing on re-usability, stability, and performance.
