Department Admissions Position Summary   Theâ?¯MSUâ?¯Denver Admissions team is looking for an Assistant Director of High School Outreach and Recruitment that is enthusiastic about access to higher education by supporting prospective and incomingâ?¯MSUâ?¯Denver Roadrunners. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of High School Outreach , this position oversees a team of admissions counselors and student ambassadors that serve Colorado. In collaboration with the Recruitment Leadership team, the Assistant Director of High School Outreach assists with the development , implementation , and assessment of recruitment and yield strategies.     The Assistant Director oversees a team of Admissions Counselors and Student Admissions Ambassadors who all work closely together to supportâ?¯MSUâ?¯Denverâ??s recruitment and outreach efforts specifically for high school students. The position uses principles of strategic enrollment management to guide recruitment efforts and meet strategic enrollment goals of the University, and regularly uses data analysis and implements assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of those efforts. This position will also regularly represent the Office of Admissions and the University with key campus partners, educational institutions, and community organizations.   Additionally, the As sistant Director is responsible for providing training and leadership for the High School Outreach team , including, but not limited to, the oversight of the following functional areas:   Outreach to prospective high school students through travel, personal contact, phone, email, text correspondence, social media, information sessions, application assistance , and visits to high schools and community organizations   Supervising Student Admissions Ambassadors â?" High School Ambassador Team that serve students at partner Denver metro area high school districts   Implementation of Spanish language programming and family engagement opportunities   Metropolitan State University of Denver is an equal opportunity employer.   IND208 Duties/Responsibilities   4 0 % â?" Leads and supervises several members of the high school outreach team including Admissions Counselors and Student Admissions Ambassadors . Provides direction for and oversees outreach and recruitment activities in alignment with strategic recruitment goals. Develops performance plans for team and conducts performance evaluations.   2 5 % â?" Provides in-office admissions counseling to prospective students from all markets, with an emphasis on diverse, underrepresented groups . Support on the road recruitment visits and events as needed , including maintaining a regular visitation schedule Colorado high schools in a high-volume region. Represent MSU Denver and support the enrollment and application process at high school and c ommunity fairs.    15 % â?" Identify opportunities for Spanish language engagement. Facilitate and implement events and presentations accordingly. Includes leadership of Spanish language Admissions information se ssions and collaboration with Spanish speaking visit ambassadors. Works with internal and external departments and organizations to coordinate recruitment activities.     10% - Respond to and support student inquiries via text, email, phone, in- person and virtual appointments.    5% â?" Serve on various internal and external committees as assigned including but not limited to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts , and opportunities to build relationships with community and campus partners.   5% - Other duties as assigned.   Required Qualifications A minimum of 3 -years â?? experience working in higher education, secondary education, or student engagement organization.    Experience working with a diverse, multicultural student population â?¯   Experience giving and creating engaging presentations for large groupsâ?¯(50 people and more)   Experience providing high quality customer service through face-to-face interactions with clients, customers, or students.â?¯   Experience using a Student Information System database or Customer Relationship Management system.â?¯   Strong written communication skills.    A valid driverâ??s license and dependable transportation, due to required frequent travel for recruiting activities.    Bachelorâ??s degree.   â??â?? Preferred Qualifications Masterâ??s degree in higher education, counseling, or related field.â?¯   Experience working in admissions, advising or enrollment services in a higher education setting, or post-graduate college counseling.â?¯   Experience working with Slate and Banner   Supervision experience (student staff or professional staff)   Bilingual in English and Spanish (speaking and writing).   Work Hours Full-time, 40 hours per week, Exempt Monday â?" Friday 8:00am â?" 5:00pm, E venings or weekend as needed Hybrid schedule (on-campus and remote) available for this position Travel: Salary for Announcement We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $54,900 - $68,650 . The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
