Morris”), the second largest division of MGI, is a regional distributor of CNC machine tools, engineering, support services and related tooling & accessories, is seeking a CNC Remote Support Service Technician. Summary of Responsibility:

CNC Remote Support Service Technician is capable of diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, remotely with customers that are experiencing issues with their CNC equipment, so parts may be ordered and technicians may be dispatched efficiently with an accurate plan of action.

  •  Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company




  • Accurate diagnosis of CNC machine issues and recommendations to customers to get their machine running without onsite support when possible


  • Provide assistance and guidance to tech supports in the field servicing equipment


  • Assist in recommending Field Service Technicians based on proficiencies and requirements in order to optimally respond to machine service requests from customers


  • Assisting the Parts Departments with warranty questions and issues


  • Using machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues


Qualifications & Competencies:



  • Proven track record in servicing mechanical/electrical CNC machine tools; Okuma OSP control experience is helpful


  • Complete working mechanical knowledge of CNC machine mills and lathes


  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Suite and other business programs as necessary


  • Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills, along with proven analytical and problem solving abilities


  • Strong customer service background to assist with all customer requests


  • Solid logistics background to effectively dispatch service technicians to job


  • Extensive electrical knowledge and troubleshooting including high voltage


  • Must be adaptable to changes and able to deal with change, delays, or general work-related issues.
