Infosys McCamish – Principal Consultant – US

As a Principal Consultant, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Process Consulting - Engage with the client early in the life-cycle to consult on the business processes, guides the team in analyzing business requirements and maps the same to the process within the product / package so as to enable optimum utilization, creates a solution using the package in a manner such that it can be reused in other similar scenarios
  • Problem Definition - Review work of team members, provide suggestions on problem statement articulation, discuss with stakeholders, define and document the problem and develop the high level solution for large/complex prospects
  • Discovery/As Is Assessment - Engage in the capacity of an expert to resolve bottlenecks in process analysis or high level fit gap with respect to a product/process and engages with the client in advisory capacity to highlight best practices, review output and provide guidance to different project teams
  • Solution Evaluation and Recommendation - For medium complexity projects: Lead the team of consultants in coming up with solution alternatives for the client e.g. A business case, high level process flow, vendor assessment and selection, package evaluation etc.
  • Architecture/Design /Detailing of Processes - Review requirements and solution alternatives, to-be process maps and other solution design deliverables; do different types of modeling; guide the team. For large and complex engagements: create detailed design along with other team members
  • Effort Estimation and Proposal Development - Own the complete proposal development for large proposals, solve the business problem with a view to proactively identify risks, identify scope-creep and estimate for the engagement and review the solution
  • Presales - Anchor large complex pursuits, involved in non-RFP based sales/RFP based pursuits and involved in alliance meetings with Global Markets
  • Program Management/Onsite Coordination - Lead and provide guidance to the team across Project Management/Consulting streams in large projects and accounts, participate in Steering committee meetings for key engagements along with the Program manager for addressing select issues as an advisor and play an active role in large complex consulting programs
  • Knowledge Transfer /System Appreciation - For medium/high complexity projects: Create capabilities in core domain areas to develop system transition plan, review the methodology and drive improvement across the practice
  • Talent Management - Participate in recruitment and influence hiring decisions, manage team performance through performance expectation, performance reviews and feedback, Coach consultants and create a shared vision for the team, communicates organizational changes and policies effectively, ensure team engagement and motivation; Implement Rewards & Recognition and team building; ensure compliance and assign activities as per the individual skills/competency of the team members
  • Marketing and Branding via Thought Leadership - Develop and publish leading view-points through thought leadership activities and go-to-market solution activities, marketing events, conceptualize and guide preparation of collaterals, points of view and other marketing materials to create awareness about the intellectual property within and outside the organization
  • Development/ Configuration (Not Applicable for IMS consultants) - For medium/high complexity projects: Guide the team in configuring the application in line with the Design Documents, plan the activities for configuration and development with PM, work with product vendors to resolve product issues, work with the client to get requirement clarifications and user sign off on key changes
  • Deployment - For medium/high complexity projects: Review the cutover plan, collate the best practices on deployment methodologies/ plans from various engagements and ensures implementation of the plans across engagements
  • Validation (system)/ Issue Resolution (Incident/ Problem Resolution) - Resolve validation and verification issues escalated by team and communicate with clients for effective and efficient issue resolution; share insights and learnings with team to for them to address similar issues
  • Client Training - Identify the Training requirements and provide inputs for managing the change using multiple communication mechanisms and participate as an expert in training to key end users
Qualifications Basic:
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
  • At least 11 years of relevant work experience in the job description
Preferred:
  • Must be extremely proficient with all PC applications – Word, Excel, Power Point, project management tools.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Must be self-motivated and pro-active
