As a Pest Control Worker/Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will: Inspect, research, and treat campus in alignment with the Integrated Pest Management Program guidelines, regulations, and supervisor instructions. Identify infestations, sources, and damages, and determine mitigation access of pests. Control access to applied and stored chemicals and establish and maintain warning signs. Coordinate pest control activities with building occupants and stakeholders. Maintain records of work activities performed. Prepare and submit reports as required by University policy, state regulatory guidance, and department procedures. Support the Custodial Equipment Repair Shop by moving equipment across campus, installing restroom cabinets, and perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. Strong time management and organizational skills. Great attention to detail with a commitment to quality work. Skilled in maintaining accurate records. Ability to work independently. Proactive problem-solving skills and excels in managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously. Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Good decision-making skills. Ability to work around moving machinery and electricity. Ability to learn and act on new technical and/or complex information. Ability to identify, access, learn, interpret, follow, and explain applicable codes, policies, and procedures. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Ability to obtain a Nebraska Pesticide Applicator License that include the categories 08, 08w, and 09 within 6 months of employment (on-the-job training and licensing fees are provided). Preferred Qualifications: Vocational training in pest control or other related certifications or courses. Degree with a focus in electrical, equipment maintenance, or mechanical industrial cleaning equipment. Experience in agricultural, structural, lawn, and/or ornamental pest control activities. Experience in pest control and management. Experience in a recognized apprentice program or formal training related or prior work experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical industrial equipment. Nebraska Pesticide Applicator License that include the categories 08, 08w, and/or 09. Posted Salary: Salary commensurate with experience Job Type: Full-Time
