This role serves as the Associate Director, Logistics, reporting to the Executive Director, Operations for Sensors, and is a critical member of the Leadership Team.  Raytheon, an RTX business, is seeking an Associate Director, Logistics to join the Operations Leadership Team. This position will be responsible for Logistics functions within the Sensors operations across multiple sites.   Responsibilities include inbound material flow, inventory management, material distribution, packaging, customer delivery and transportation.   In this role you will be responsible for leadership and talent development opportunities to an organization of ~200 employees across multiple functions including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Supply Chain while maintaining a safe work environment for all employees and instilling a culture of continuous improvement.

The Associate Director, Logistics will provide cross-functional leadership of multi-disciplined teams to include the coordination of resources and strategy required to support ongoing operations for cost, quality, and schedule, ensuring operational excellence across various processes from planning through production, and customer delivery. This role is expected to champion Enterprise Collaboration by bringing best in class solutions that deliver innovative material management and advanced capabilities that create sustained growth while driving affordability.

This position is in a fast paced, customer / program driven environment and is a key enabler leading strategic growth with regular interactions with senior leaders across Raytheon Operations and other functions as a member of the Raytheon Operations extended leadership team working cohesively with the other directorates within Operations and Supply Chain.

The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in technical, program, and operational leadership roles.

The selected candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 40-hour work week and periodically travel domestically.

What You Will Do


  • People leader and manager; encouraging and in support of performance management activities, goal setting, career counseling, compensation planning, and employee training and /or talent development.

  • Managing employees and employee relations issues within varying levels of the Organization.

  • Collaborating and building strong cross-functional teams gained from leadership experience in operations, program management or similar for a complex product domain, high-technology, or large corporate environment.

  • Communicate clear expectations and influence teams across a wide cross-section of disciplines.

  • Execute against tight deadlines.

Qualifications You Must Have


  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and 12 years’ experience to include working within Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or similar production schedule driven environment or an advanced degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer


  • Prior experience leading in a DoD environment managing a collective bargaining workforce.

  • Experience utilizing SAP and other business systems and utilizing Shop floor data systems.

  • Experience with Six-Sigma / CORE and lean manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent organizational, customer service, presentation, and team building skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications with the ability to present to senior leadership.

  • Understanding of Raytheon product structures and product technical details.

  • Experience in financial performance / cost reduction.

  • Active/Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
