VP Marketing Sales - Military Veterans

Job Summary
Responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the company's marketing efforts for the Acute, Post Acute, and Alternate Site sales markets. Lead a team of marketing professionals focused on enabling the sales force via sales tools and support, as well as through direct marketing activity that generates customer awareness and interest in products and services. In conjunction with sales and marketing leadership, lead development of new strategic initiatives that advance Medline's position in the marketplace, accelerate opportunities for future sales growth, and enable expansion of Medline's customer relationships from tactical to strategic. Accountable for all of the promotional programs, sales meetings, and sales incentive programs for all Medline sales organizations. Accountable for Medline's corporate innovation development team, ensuring both a robust pipeline of innovation opportunities as well as a structured approach for commercialization and expansion through appropriate sales segments.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Along with Sales Leadership, define and develop the short- and long-term strategic marketing plans of the assigned sales forces designed to deliver financial goals.
  • Lead development of strategic and tactical marketing plans that use the depth and breadth of Medline's product portfolio, clinical expertise and distribution capabilities to grow and retain prime vendor accounts and expand multi-segment customer engagement.
  • Lead the development and commercialization of marketing initiatives across segments, working to ensure Medline's positioning and services across the continuum of care align with evolving customer needs and expectations.
  • Accelerate expansion and customer acceptance of new innovation and strategic marketing initiatives to ensure greater scale of impact.
  • Collaborate with Product Divisions to develop one common go-to-market plan for each sales segment that incorporates sales marketing activity and commercial support for division initiatives.
  • Work with clinical leadership on the development of clinically focused programs and solutions that help enable the success of our customers and drive sales of supporting products.
  • Oversee management of sales incentive programs that effectively leverage the strength of the sales force to meet or exceed sales and profit expectations and drive the strategic vision.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of sales enablement tools including but not limited to business reviews and any marketing materials supporting promo activity.
  • Represent the needs of the sales force to the leadership of the organization with specific emphasis on ensuring the leadership of the Product Divisions are knowledgeable and aware of the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Support sales force leadership in the communication strategy and plans at sales meetings both national and regional.


Required Experience:

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing related field.


Work Experience
  • At least 10 years of marketing experience (ex. marketing plans, promotions, trade shows and other marketing/sales strategies).
  • At least 5 years of marketing management experience including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
  • Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
  • Forecasting and budgeting experience. - Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • Marketing experience in the healthcare or related industry.

In 2002, Medline began delivering products in the Chicagoland area with a single truck. Today, Medline’s MedTrans transportation fleet has grown to more than 1,500 vehicles, delivering nearly 80% of Medline U.S. product sales and providing consistent, exceptional end-to-end supply chain service.

Medline has the largest owned transportation fleet of any healthcare product distributor in the U.S. And MedTrans has grown along with Medline over the past two decades, doubling the size of its fleet every five years, and continuing to diversify its vehicles and strategies to meet the company’s evolving portfolio of more than 300,000 products.

The current MedTrans fleet is comprised of semi trucks, box trucks and cargo vans to accommodate large and small deliveries. MedTrans also seeks to minimize the impact of its deliveries on the environment. This includes implementing across-the-board fuel and emissions-reduction standards and practices: utilizing Dynamic Route Planning to reduce miles and improve trailer utilization; purchasing the most efficient diesel-fueled trucks; and incentivizing all drivers to avoid hard stops, heavy acceleration, high speeds and long periods of idling. Medline also has served as an Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay® Transport partner for the past 10 years, tracking and sharing information on the company’s fuel use and freight emissions.
