Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking Network Administrator, reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada office.



The successful candidate will be responsible for network infrastructure and Linux/Unix system administration tasks. They will work with the team to enhance the stability of the environment and improve methods of infrastructure delivery. They must be able to manage projects to completion leading small teams to successful outcomes, technical leadership will be key for this role.



The successful candidate will be expected to be part of a 24x7 on-call team and provide extended hours support. They will work closely with other teams across the business to improve efficiency of the infrastructure and ensure Information Technology solutions meet corporate requirements and schedules.



Position Responsibilities:



  • Evaluates and communicates technical information and solutions with customers, suppliers and teammates at all levels of the organization in a professional manner


  • Uses standard applicable computing disciplines including change configuration, problem solving, performance, and operational management on a range of technical systems and application activities


  • Analyzes, manages, documents, and maintains Ethernet network topology, network devices, servers and server operating systems, subsystems, and components


  • Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability


  • Provides corporate Cisco networking experience including Cisco switching/routing, and the building of resilient TCP/IP networks


  • Ensures Information Technology infrastructure conforms to standard architectural objectives as well as meets security objectives


  • Works directly with other functional areas to ensure Information Technology infrastructure solutions meet the enterprise requirements and schedules


  • Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements


  • Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations




This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Winnipeg location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):



  • 3+ years installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Cisco hardware in a corporate environment (Catalyst switches, ASR routers, wireless controllers, access points)


  • 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support in a corporate environment for Unix / Linux (AIX, Red Hat)


  • Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the job in a large factory environment


  • Must be legally able to work in Canada


  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods


  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data




Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):



  • Experience with Dell/EMC Unity storage array and Brocade FC switch


  • Cisco certification (CCNA)


  • AIX-based IBM Spectrum Protect centralized backup software experience


  • Experience with Juniper Network Junos OS firewall and Juniper Security Director in a corporate environment


  • Experience with Network cabling (copper and fiber)


  • Industrial Control Systems/Operational Technology (ICS/OT) security experience


  • Wireshark experience




Typical Education and Experience:



Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).



Relocation:



Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.



Additional Information:



This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
