Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Scrum Master / Agile Coach to join our team! In this role you will get to be on the forefront leading SAFe® Agile teams in support of the FORGE program.
The Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution System (FORGE) is a program that will utilize the resources and capabilities of both the legacy Space Based-Infrared System (SBIRS) and the Next Generation OPIR system. FORGE will use current ground architecture to leverage newer technologies, facilitate the addition of new systems, and incorporate these into a common C2 architecture that includes infrastructure, platform, and core services.
The Scrum Master will work with a talented team of various vendors, engineers, and the customer to develop the FORGE ground baseline.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Ensure that Scrum practices are adhered to and continuously improve the effectiveness of these ceremonies using SAFe principles and Agile practices.
- Act as a servant leader to the Scrum team, removing impediments and helping the team stay focused on delivering high-quality increments.
- Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and self-organization.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, encouraging open communication and accountability.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure that the backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and refined.
- Assist in defining clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Track sprint progress, manage scope changes, and ensure that the team adheres to sprint goals.
- Monitor and report on team performance metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and sprint progress.
- Identify areas for improvement and work with the team to implement process enhancements.
- Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders and leadership on team progress and challenges.
- Facilitate communication between team members, stakeholders, and other teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Manage and resolve conflicts within the team to maintain a positive and productive working environment.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing feedback from retrospectives and other sources.
- Stay current with Agile best practices and industry trends to enhance the team's Agile maturity.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and typically 5+ years of related work experience.
- Certifications: SAFe® Scrum Master, SAFe® for Teams
- Hold active Secret clearance
- Demonstrated working knowledge & experience in the following areas: agile software development, agile methodologies, software development life cycle management in a cross-functional team.
- Experience in JIRA, Confluence, and/or Slack
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other relevant Engineering field from an accredited university
- Top Secret Clearance
- Certifications: SAFe® PO/PM or SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master, and SAFe® for Government
