A leading company in providing water and wastewater treatment solutions is looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Technician in Gainesville, Florida. They need someone who can perform the installation of control and power panels, and troubleshoot water/wastewater control systems including, but not limited to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA Systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs) ensuring quality control standards are met. You will be responsible for installs, calibration, adjusts, troubleshoot and repair various types of water/wastewater plant electrical, electronic, computer controls, digital/analog instruments and controls. You will work with the PLC programmer in testing and troubleshooting control systems.
Essential job functions:
- Installs, calibrates, adjusts, troubleshoots and repairs various types of water/wastewater plant electrical, electronic, computer controls, digital/analog instruments and controls, including, but not limited to, water systems controls
- Water treatment and processing systems, and environmental monitoring and control equipment, programmable logic controllers, radio telemetry system, AC variable frequency drives, AC motors and controls, switchgear containing voltages ranging from single phase 120 VAC through 480 VAC
- Uninterruptible power system (UPS) and associated battery banks, fixed battery charger systems, electrical hoists, soft start controllers, logic monitoring system, pneumatic controls, interior and exterior lighting, transfer switches, lighting and power distribution panels, power transformers, control transformers, emergency lighting, air compressors, maintenance shop fixed equipment
- Uses test equipment including, but not limited to, voltmeters, ohmmeters (both analog and digital), ammeters, phase rotation meter, meggers, oscilloscopes, watt meters, loop calibrators, portable non-contact thermometers, 375 Hart Communicator, non-contact high voltage detector and portable flow meters
- Reviews diagrams, drawings and specifications for design, construction and/or alteration of instrument and control systems
- Assists in planning and scheduling maintenance, and prepares detailed records and reports
You will work out of Gainesville but must be open to travel. Travel pattern usually one week a month at their customer sites in the Caribbean and Mexico. There is roughly 30-40% travel per year.
Bases salary, $90 - $120K, with great benefits, a 401k and per diem when traveling. They are also open to major cities in Florida but must be okay with training in Gainesville as well.
