Union Carpenter Journeyman- Nova - Military Veterans

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles.
The base compensation range for this role is $50.29 per hour.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Set up trailers
Study blueprints, sketches or building plans for information pertaining to the type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard. Measures the dimensions of structure of fixture to be fabricated
Build decks, stairs, roofs and other temporary structures between office units, plan tables, install shelves, setup tool trailers and/or conex's, silt fences and/or straw bales, setup site per erosion control plan
Hand-set forms and/or assemble the gang forms
Assist journeyman and foreman with the shooting of grades and elevations
Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect all prefabricated materials
Concrete and rough carpentry
Hand set Walls
Footings
Set Gang Wall Forms
Structural Concrete Decks
Drywall
Finish Carpentry, doors, frames, and hardware
Millwork and cabinetry
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Ability to picture solid objects from drawings or diagrams
Ability to speak and understand English

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED (required)
Minimum of three years of experience as a carpenter (required)
Trade or technical school certification/diploma is a plus (preferred)
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Ability to frequently work in heat and other weather conditions
B. Frequently crouch, kneel, squat, climb
C. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs
D. Frequently reach high and low places
E. Ability to see, hear, balance, and review job sites
F. Ability to stand and walk throughout work day
G. Ability to use repetitive hand/arm/leg movements
