As a Human Factors & Usability Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the design and development of products offered by Stryker Emergency Care. You will work as a part of cross-functional product design and development teams to champion the perspectives of our users and help to design products that are intuitive, safe, and effective to use. This includes conducting human factors analyses, planning and conducting usability testing, and using human factors principles to provide data-informed design recommendations.



Primary roles and responsibilities:



  • Plan, execute, and present results of usability testing

  • Provide design recommendations to product teams that are backed by usability data and best practices

  • Conduct usability analyses and leverage anthropometric and human performance data to inform the design of products

  • Collaborate with interaction design, industrial design, engineering, and marketing teams

  • Contribute to the creation of usability engineering documents



Majors targeted: Engineering disciplines​



What You Need​​



  • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan to be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer.​


  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and will be verified during background check in the spring​


  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.​


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ​


  • Strong interpersonal skills.​


  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and proven leadership and business acumen skills. ​


  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. ​


  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. ​


  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.​


  • Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.​




$19 min hourly wage – $33 max hourly wage and either paid corporate housing or a living stipend, dependent upon hiring location.
