Quality Auditor - Military Veterans

Purpose: To provide direct support for the continued development, sustainment, update and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System.

Positions Reporting to this Function:

  • None


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures applicability of current quality policies, procedures and objectives by keeping informed of the latest updates/modifications to the contract.

  • Supports departments/sections as they achieve and sustain ISO 9001 standards through auditing processes and departments.

  • A quality "champion" by promoting, teaching, and presenting quality as a means for product improvement and efficiency.

  • Assists Quality Management personnel to develop a surveillance program that produces effective feedback to the various work sites within this contract.

  • Assists the Quality Management personnel in the application of statistical process controls.

  • Conducts quality assurance checks, including but not limited to supply and property processes (MOS 92A/92Y), materiel maintenance processes (MOS 91 series) and logistics and transportation processes (MOS 88M).

  • Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and supports the APS-2 Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Instills a Safety-First mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.

  • Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the Amentum Quality Management System.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;

  • An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;

  • A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;

  • 11 years of recent specialized experience.


Desired Qualification & Experience Requirements:
  • High School degree or equivalent. College degree is highly desirable.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in either maintenance, logistics, supply or property.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience, i.e. two years of experience is equivalent to two years of college and vice versa.


Specialized knowledge and skills:
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System and initiatives required.

  • Must have excellent and effective presentation skills.

  • Must be able to influence without direct authority by building effective partnerships throughout the organization.

  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and good working relationships.

  • Must possess basic statistical skills.

  • Must have good working knowledge of process management.

  • Must have high-level organizational and planning skills.

  • Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Must have a high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel.

  • Must be able to multi-task.

  • Must be able to speak the English language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social and professional topics.

  • Must be able to read standard newspaper items addressed to the general reader, routine correspondence, reports and technical manuals in the individual's special field.


Preferred Knowledge:

1) ISO 9001:2015 Auditor Training Course Certificate is preferred.
  • If candidate does not possess certificate, they must complete online course within 180 days on contract.

  • Familiarity with GCSS-Army and/or AWRDS.


Additional Requirements:

1) LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Clearance required: NACI/Tier 1 for US Citizens.


2) PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Stooping, sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds by themselves-51+ with the assistance of another person, touching dexterity (hand and finger), carrying, clear seeing- general, close vision, color perception, clear speech, driving vehicle, moving objects.


3) WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Works alone, with and around others, verbal/face-to-face contact, inside/outside, extended days, confined areas, extreme heat/cold, temperature changes, wet and/or humid, noise, mechanical and electrical equipment, high places, fumes/odors and dirt/dust.
