Job Description
Department: Irrigation

Reports to: Irrigation Department Manager or Store Manager

Supervises: Irrigation Service Department

Purpose:

Provide customer support, maintenance and repair of irrigation equipment including systems, pumps and motors. Provides both telephone and on-site support for customers that includes taking detailed messages and parts sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Greets customers and assists in determining irrigation needs and makes practical recommendations to meet their needs.
  • Assist in the selling, stocking, receiving and inventorying irrigation department parts
  • Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and irrigation equipment
  • Perform in-field irrigation diagnostics and repairs as required
  • Serve as an in-field representative for the dealership to provide irrigation solutions and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing, including any parts and/or fluids used
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Maintains current knowledge of Valley Irrigation product as well as competitive products
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
  • 1+ years of experience performing irrigation service repairs
  • 1+ years of welding experience
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical used in the repair of irrigation equipment
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license is required
