Channel Protection Manager - REMOTE - Military Veterans

Position Summary



The Channel Protection Manager is a critical role for ensuring governance and integrity of sales channels involving distributors and other sales & marketing intermediaries (SMIs).  This role is responsible for establishing the policies, procedures, standard work and analytics associated with monitoring the Healthcare channels for gray market activity and any unauthorized sales both within the US and outside the US.  This role will be responsible for protecting business within our authorized channels and reducing activities that erode product margins. 


 


The Channel Protection Manager will develop and implement policies and procedures to standardize the approach to SMIs, including assessment of prospect SMIs and risk mitigation. The Position will be responsible for collaborating  with business units leaders as well as global Commercial leaders to develop policies for alignment of product lines to support the strategy while not creating channel conflict or secondary channels.   This includes making recommendations to commercial leaders that involve shutting down current and/or prospective channel partners/Customers.


 


The Channel Protection Manager will have responsibility for development of strategy and policies to reduce gray market activity and fraudulent purchasing, protecting profitability of STERIS business units.  
 





Duties



  1. Develop policies for assessment of prospect distributors and other SMIs as well as procedure for review and integration of SMIs from acquired companies.  

  2. Develop strategy and policies to minimize product diversion.  This includes developing analytics to identify potential diverters and processes to manage the risk in partnership with Commercial leaders. 

  3. Design escalation process for review of SMIs and unusual purchasing behavior.

  4. Drive the awareness of this issue across the Healthcare organization.  Provide Business Unit leaders with the data to understand the impact to their P&L and gain support on the remediation efforts.  This includes leading quarterly channel protection QBRs with stakeholders and providing semi-annual updates to the Healthcare Management Team (HMT)

  5. Partner with corporate compliance team to align on SMI policy compliance and processes.  

  6. Design and launch channel protection education and training to those teams who support the various channels. Utilize awareness of industry trends to constantly update and refresh training to impacted teams.

  7. Attend industry events and proactively monitor industry trends that impact STERIS channels.

  8. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the function, including standard work and the root-cause-countermeasure process in support of key performance indicators (KPIs) 

  9. Works within the department’s Lean tracking tools and provides data as needed for monthly documentation of performance against agreed-upon KPIs.

  10. Propose process/system modifications to gain efficiencies in accordance with STERIS’s Lean initiative. 

  11. Work closely with commercial operations functions to implement process and system changes that support channel protection and reduce risk.  This includes CDM, Pricing Teams, Customer Operations and Sales Operations.




Education Degree


Bachelor's Degree



Required Experience




  • 5 years related work experience 

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Strong data and analytics experience 

  • Competent in continuous improvement and lean tools.


 


  • Ability to travel to distributor locations or industry events as needed. (Domestic & International)

 





Preferred Education / Skills / Experience



  • Master’s degree preferred 

  • Healthcare and/or Distribution experience preferred 

  • Prior experience with channel/brand protection preferred

 Pay range for this opportunity is $78,500.00 - $109,987.50. This position is eligible for company bonus plan participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

 

Employees (and their families) may enroll in our company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings account, voluntary benefits, supplemental life/AD&D plans and the company’s 401k plan. Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability.  Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
