JOB SUMMARY The School of Business MBA Programs Office is seeking a full-time Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator (Admissions Officer 2). The incumbent will report to the Executive Director of MBA Programs and will be responsible for recruiting activities for MBA programs, including but not limited to, active recruitment, providing admissions counseling, and processing & evaluating admissions applications. The primary work location is flexible and will be based in either Stamford or Hartford, depending on the incumbent selected for the position. The position will entail both telecommuting and regular travel throughout the state for recruitment activities. Occasional out-of-state travel, evening and weekend hours will also be required in support of program and recruitment activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to: Generating leads by coordinating and conducting recruitment activities in support of MBA programs including corporate outreach. With direction from the Associate Director of Admissions, creating and implementing a monthly recruitment plan that includes information sessions, corporate outreach, and recruitment fairs within Connecticut and surrounding regions. Assisting with planning and conducting informational meetings, sessions, and programs to explain admission requirement policies and procedures; representing and promoting the MBA Programs at appropriate recruiting or academic events as necessary, including open houses, conferences, etc. Responsible for presenting the introduction at the information sessions. Reviewing, evaluating, and processing online applications through the admissions system; ensuring compliance with admission requirements; providing recommendations on the admissibility of graduate students. Communicating and following up with applicants via email regarding missing application material or other questions related to their application. Working directly with the appropriate School of Business representative to ensure a smooth admissions process for our applicants. Assisting in updating each application in the admissions system. Notifying applicants who are waitlisted or declined. Making recommendations on academic credentials of applicants and transferability in accordance with university-established policies and goals; recommending appropriate action for admission. Acting as the first point of contact for MBA inquiries from prospective students, applicants, University offices, and external constituents via telephone, email, or in person regarding University, School of Business, and program policies, procedures, and admissions requirements; maintaining records of prospective student inquiries using the admissions system. Counseling prospective students regarding admissions requirements, academic eligibility, program options, residency requirements, course equivalencies and alternative educational choices, as appropriate. Communicating with all new students after admission is confirmed. Coordinating with the Graduate Admissions office for final approval and matriculation. Corresponding with admitted students and sending new student information packet. Participating in events such as orientations and graduations. Keeping informed regarding academic program requirements, enrollment restrictions and other matters related to admitting students. Maintaining general knowledge of all School of Business master?s programs to be able to relay general information about the programs to interested parties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor?s degree in a related field. Three years of related experience. Proven ability to recruit and counsel individuals, including experience planning, organizing, and implementing recruitment events and activities. Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, external agencies/groups, and the public. Comfortable speaking in front of various audiences, including large groups, senior management, and key stakeholders. Proven capability to captivate and engage audiences through dynamic presentation delivery. Demonstrated experience taking initiative, working independently, and exercising sound judgment when making decisions. Exemplary conduct and demeanor, always projecting a polished and professional image. Demonstrated self-assurance and poise, especially in high-pressure situations, while interacting with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Proven experience working well as part of a team. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, and hosting virtual meetings using a variety of platforms. Dependable transportation and willingness and ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel in-state and out-of-state as needed in support of program activities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience working in an active recruitment or client/talent acquisition type position. Ability to aid in the formulation and enhancement of recruitment tactics, advisement, and professional programming. Demonstrated experience working with mature students, executives, or other professionals. Demonstrated experience with Customer Relationship Management systems. APPOINTMENT TERMS This is a full-time position based in Stamford or Hartford, dependent upon the incumbent selected for the position. The salary range for this position is mid-50s to low 60s, depending on education, qualifications, and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
