What You Will Do:
Develop and implement data center strategy and solutions to meet program objectives
Design and analyze new and existing data center infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, specialized compute, power distribution, and monitoring
Oversee the design, build, and management of data center infrastructure to support program activities
Research new and emerging data center technologies
Establish data center design and management prioritie
Implement short-term and long-term strategy for data center activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities, and security
May travel up to 25% as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have:
8 years of experience with data center operations and management, including hands-on hardware operations experience.
Subject matter expertise in the data center lifecycle, including design, build, operations, management, monitoring, and related disciplines.
Experience working in a mission-critical data center environment.
Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale network infrastructure.
Experience with installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex data center components such as servers, storage, routers, switches, and similar devices.
Knowledgeable in modern network theory and technologies.
Knowledgeable in data center industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Experience with data center disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
Master of Science in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
Experience with field-based work in PoPs, carrier hotels, data centers, and/or central office environments.
Industry certifications in data networking and data center design, management, or operations.
Experience with Linux/Unix system and network administration.
Knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems as applied to critical cooling and/or power systems.
Knowledge of controls or process optimization for mission-critical facility infrastructure.
Basic understanding of data center electrical infrastructure.
Experience in a network operations center environment.
Current and active Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.
