Description



Provides technical expertise, guidance and advice to operational and/or maintenance Supervisors to resolve complex operational issues at assigned site.

 


  • Acts as technical expert in a specific area of operations at assigned site

  • Provides technical expertise to resolve major production/maintenance problems

  • Is generally the highest level technical position for this area at assigned site 

  • Will have broad and deep background, knowledge and understanding of a specific process and associated equipment

  • Monitors maintenance schedules and reviews historical maintenance records for plant and equipment, to help identify potential and existing problems

  • Having identified a problem, determines the root cause and recommends what action should be taken to resolve and/or prevent production/maintenance issues occurring (or re-occurring)

  • Leads project teams working on identified production/maintenance problems; team members may be internal or external (vendors or contractors)

  • Serves as technical expert on complex maintenance planning

  • Collaborates with Planners and others involved in the planning of production shut-downs

  • Keeps abreast of technological improvements in field of expertise and how these impact operations at assigned site

  • Conducts regular training, in area of technical expertise, for staff in operations, maintenance, etc. at assigned site, ensuring employees remain up-to-date with technological advances and how they impact operations at site

  • Generates ad hoc reports and analysis for site management

  • May represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams

  • Actively participates in site safety processes, and in collaboration with site management, helps to incorporate safe working practices in the day-to-day activities of all operations and maintenance staff

  • Performs other duties as required





Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications


 



  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience in a mining or manufacturing environment within maintenance and/or operations, including Project Management experience

  • Knowledge of site processes, equipment and infrastructure

  • Knowledge of comprehensive preventative maintenance on assigned equipment

  • Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling the maintenance of plant, vehicles, and equipment

  • Skill in utilizing computer databases to research, maintain, and update records and files

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards


 



Preferred

 


  • Process mineral equipment experience

  • Experience with concentrator maintenance/operations (crushers, conveyors, mills, flotation, etc. )

  • Experience with interaction with original equipment manufacturers

  • Experienced with total predictive maintenance

  • Experience with reliability methods

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You  

 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $69,000-$94,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
