Finance Technology Principle Engineer - Military Veterans

About this role:

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Public Affairs and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Within EFT we are seeking a Principal Engineer to design, develop and perform engineering solutions on computer hardware, software, and networking tools to meet the organization's needs.

In this role, you will:


  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking

  • Evaluation emerging technologies and products to be leveraged for automation of Embedded IT controls and reporting

  • Act as an expert resource for architects and development teams in the development of target architectures and maintain knowledge of industry best practices

  • Recommend innovations that should be used to enhance our operations or provide a competitive advantage to Embedded IT as well as across the organization as a shared service provider

  • Hands-on coding responsibilities - Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

  • Design solutions in detail, including determining which technologies to build a solution, what kind of interfaces should be designed, how to manage upstream and downstream consumers, how to design the data model to support the use cases, what kind of documentation should be created, what best practices should be followed

  • Work with a team of developers to explain design and work with them to implement if necessary

  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership



Required Qualifications, US:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 7+ years of technology delivery and relationship management experience with small and large business units in a large corporate environment

  • 5+ years of development experience with Big Data solutions and in ETL in big data tech stack such as Apache Spark

  • 5+ years of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies experience

  • 4+ years of experience with innovating new technology strategies and successfully implementing strategic vision

  • 4+ years of full stack development experience

  • 2+ years of experience with cloud migration & deployment

  • 2+ years of experience converting requirements into design and architecture collaterals

  • 2+ years of experience evaluating and advising product teams on latest technology trends



Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Apache Iceberg

  • Knowledge and understanding of data management and infrastructure production engineering leadership, this includes delivering reliable and responsive systems, and discipline to continually root out issues at the core

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and engineering cloud native solutions

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations

  • 5+ years demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and operate across multiple level of the organization

  • 3+ years of experience with Databricks

  • 3+ years of experience with Dremio and or other data lakes solutions

  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals

  • Executive level business acumen in technology/industry best practices and emerging trends

  • Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude

  • Experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions

  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills utilizing PowerPoint across technical and non-technical groups

  • Bachelor's degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
