Overview:

The Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative and legal support to the legal department of an energy company. This role will involve a wide range of tasks, including document preparation, research, and general office administration.

Responsibilities:

Document Management:
Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, leases, and correspondence.
Organize and maintain legal files, ensuring proper indexing and storage.
Prepare and assemble legal briefs, pleadings, and other court documents.
Research:
Conduct legal research using various databases and resources.
Analyze and summarize legal cases and statutes relevant to the company's operations.
Administrative Support:
Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
Handle incoming and outgoing calls and emails.
Prepare and process expense reports.
Maintain office supplies and equipment.
Paralegal Tasks:
Assist attorneys with discovery requests, depositions, and court proceedings.
Prepare witness lists and subpoenas.
Review and summarize medical records and other relevant documents.
Compliance:
Assist with regulatory compliance efforts, including filing required reports and maintaining compliance records.
Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:

Experience working in the energy industry.
Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
Familiarity with legal research databases and software.
