Trial Paralegal - Military Veterans

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Trial Paralegal with at least 7 years of paralegal experience, including extensive trial preparation and courtroom experience. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment. This role will involve supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, from initial case management to trial.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, including organizing trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks. Draft and file pre-trial motions, briefs, and other court documents.

  • Case Management: Oversee the management of case files, ensuring all documents, evidence, and correspondence are properly filed and readily accessible. Maintain meticulous records of case developments.

  • Discovery Support: Coordinate the discovery process, including managing document production, organizing and summarizing depositions, and preparing discovery responses.

  • Courtroom Support: Provide in-court assistance to attorneys during trial, including managing exhibits, taking notes, coordinating with witnesses, and handling last-minute requests.

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research to assist with case strategy and preparation. Analyze and summarize legal documents, pleadings, and court rulings.

  • Client Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the litigation process, providing updates, answering questions, and managing client expectations.

  • Coordination: Liaise with court personnel, opposing counsel, witnesses, and experts. Manage witness coordination, including scheduling and preparing witnesses for testimony.

  • Post-Trial Support: Assist with post-trial motions, judgments, and any appellate filings. Ensure all necessary post-trial documentation is prepared and filed promptly.

  • Administrative Duties: Handle various administrative tasks related to trial preparation, including scheduling, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.



Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Paralegal, with significant experience in trial preparation and courtroom support.



Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of legal procedures, trial processes, and litigation documentation.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.

  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to anticipate attorney needs.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a specific area of personal injury is preferred

  • Familiarity with e-discovery tools and techniques.

  • Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
