Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary The Senior Laboratory Preparation Specialist is responsible for making sure that the reagents, equipment, and materials are prepared properly for 750+ students enrolled in the General Chemistry Laboratory every semester. The position requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management skills, dedication to safety, and safety compliance and waste handling regulations. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Orders and maintains an inventory of the laboratory equipment and chemicals. Prepares reagents and sets up for the departmental laboratory courses. Keeps the departmental and prep laboratories organized. Performs routine administrative and clerical duties in support of the departmental laboratory courses. Properly disposes of waste. Develops new experiments for the departmental laboratory courses. Performs other duties as assigned. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
