Job Description



JOB OVERVIEW:  
As a Mobile Equipment Technician, you will support our manufacturing operations by providing a full range of equipment maintenance with focus on reliability. The Mobile Equipment Technician will be expected to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, assemble, or rebuild all types of mobile equipment.  Ensure sustainable operation of mobile equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, hydraulics, electrical & power transmission components. The Mobile Equipment Technician may also be a key member of process improvement and problem-solving teams. 



GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Have a thorough knowledge of maintenance procedures and operating standards. 
Know the location of all safety equipment, tools, and emergency equipment in assigned area. 
Attend and satisfactorily complete training courses as prescribed by management. 
Maintain a safe and clean working area. 
Report any unsafe or potentially damaging conditions, immediately, to supervisor. 
Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor. 



PRIMARY JOB TASKS: 
Troubleshoot and repair, replace or adjust bearings, mechanical seals, gears, sprockets, pulleys, sheaves, chains, belts, engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems. 
Select and use applicable tools and materials to accomplish assigned tasks in an efficient and safe manner. 
Perform assigned tasks with input from supervisor, maintenance work order, equipment operator, and maintenance manuals. 
Select and use correct lubricants and hydraulic oils for all equipment. 
Complete all forms such as maintenance work orders, inspection reports, PM checklists and stores requisitions. 
 


QUALITY: 
Maintain an attitude of learning to stay current with maintenance procedures and equipment. 
Must successfully complete certification as Mobile Equipment Technician. 


 
SAFETY: 
Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and unsafe acts or conditions, immediately to the supervisor. 
Must follow prescribed safety procedures to prevent injury and maintain safe equipment and conditions in entire plant 



PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: 
Ability to meet the physical requirements of working safely in an industrial maintenance environment. 
Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
