Job Description



JOB OVERVIEW: The Technician 2 position requires 3 Senior Certifications.


As a Technician 2, you will support our manufacturing operations and


facilities infrastructure by providing a primary focus on a full range of HVAC


maintenance and repair as well as mechanical/electrical repair tasks


throughout facilities. Project duties will vary; please read the requirements


and job tasks below to understand the range of experience needed.


GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:


· High school graduate or equivalent


· Strong Mechanical & Electrical background & good work record


· Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMMS, Excel, etc.)


· Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals


· Understand manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment


· Must be familiar with normal shop equipment such as drill press, band


saw, portable power tools, welder(s), etc.


· Ability to read and interpret precision measuring devices


· Must be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously


· Must have 3 hands-on Certifications: HVAC, Senior Electrical, plus Sr.


Mechanical


· Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in HVAC installation, repair,


and preventive maintenance task.


· Must have a current EPA section 608 authorized certification card.


· Up to 50% travel possible


PRIMARY JOB TASKS:


· Works in a safe manner and ensures the safety of all employees


· Perform all work in accordance with Southwire policies and


procedures


· Reading electrical and or mechanical schematics, drawings and equipment manuals · Develop material list and order materials required · Good communication skills with Leadership, peers, and external suppliers · Provide direction to contractors & small crews if applicable · Fabricate, install, repair, or replace, HVAC and facility electrical or mechanical components · Perform assigned work efficiently and track time spent in workorder system


SAFETY:


· Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and unsafe acts or conditions,


immediately to the supervisor


· Must follow prescribed safety procedures to prevent injury and maintain


safe equipment and conditions in the entire plant


PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:


· Ability to meet the physical requirements of working safely in an


industrial maintenance environment


· Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all


materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact
