Job Summary and Qualifications
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As our Assistant, you will provide treatment and rehabilitative services to patients to improve mobility, relieve pain and disability under the direction of the Physical Therapist. If you are dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, this could be your next opportunity.
Your duties and responsibilities may include:
- You will conduct patient education, including post care planning, proper use of supportive devices and equipment, and gait and functional training.
- You will record, monitor, analyze and review clinical data. Provide feedback to therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plan and goals based upon patient performance. Adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient.
- You will collaborate with patient service departments and community service agencies to coordinate and conduct educational outreach programs and learning activities. Utilize appropriate methods and material for effective learning, monitor response to education and adapt program as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate of Science (A.S) degree or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Experience in appropriate healthcare setting preferred
- Current state of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license
- Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA).
- Critical thinking and adaptability; services excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; PC skills
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting patients and /or equipment up to 50 pounds
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA)
