Director of Quality/Digital Practice - Military Veterans

The candidate will demonstrate successful experience delivering quality programs and projects, including geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary project resources. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to develop new, and strengthen existing, positive relationships, both internally and externally, with colleagues and new clients, respectively. Articulate, concise, and consistent communication is essential for collaborating with leadership and project resources to outline workplan, responsibilities, quality management, risk assessment, and scope of authority, all the while ensuring that project milestones and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed scope, schedule, and budget parameters, clearly documenting and communicating project progress to team and leadership.

Strategic Objective: Drive SRS A/E enterprise-wide engagement focused on quality, consistency, and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistent Quality Management System, Processes, and Best Practices

• Responsible for SRS A/E enterprise-wide Quality Management team with assigned resources. Supervise Practice Quality Management staff and resources, including task delegation, as appropriate.

• Ensure broad oversight and compliance of associated project quality technical review (QA/QC) efforts performed by those technical disciplines assigned beyond direct supervision.

• Develop and maintain consistent quality processes.

o Standard Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) - Corporate and Quality Control Plan (QCP)

o Standard templates for Quality Verification Form (QVF), Project Management Plan (PMP), Project-Specific Quality Management Plan (PSQMP) - "Client-Specific"

o PMP Acknowledgments, QVF process/upload

o Standard Independent Technical Review (ITR) Process and Training

o Monthly Project Status Review (PSR) Facilitation

• Create, maintain, and update SRS A/E Practice quality procedures quarterly based on feedback from Department Managers and Project Managers, including Project Management Plan Templates (PMP), Quality Management Plans (QMP), verification checklists, design checklists, and basis of design narrative outlines.

• Ensure consistent expectations for clients, PMs, and staff resources.

• Collaborate with Practice Executives to effect consistent project setup and execution based on effective pricing (fee) approach.

• Provide and document Practice-specific Quality training, including processes and quarterly (minimum) "lessons-learned" presentations to the SRS A/E Practice. This also entails facilitation and documentation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Task Force to ensure greater consistency.

• Evaluate SOP White Paper Recommendations and collaborate with Practice Executives for approval, distribution, and implementation.

Regular Audits and Inspections

• Conduct monthly Quality Assurance (QA) Audits.

• Assist/support project teams based on audit evaluations.

• Facilitate project reviews developing additional, tailored metrics to evaluate potential risks and targeted reviews (PSRs).

• Ensure follow-up with action items from audits and reviews.

• Develop performance metrics beyond financial considerations (design schedule, milestone packages, comment quantity/resolution, submittals, etc.) to assist with project pricing and tracking.

• Report out monthly to Corporate Quality Officer and submit quality documentation as required for corporate compliance.

Training and development

• Quality Training, including quarterly lessons-learned presentations.

• Identify and train 'Quality' leaders specific to ITR QA/QC reviews.

• Develop and implement New Hire Quality Training.

• Establish CPARS expectations and client engagement levels with PMs and project teams.

Leverage Technology

• Responsible for SRS A/E enterprise-wide Digital Practice (BIM, Digital Twin, AI, etc.) with assigned resources (BIM Managers, BIM Coordinators, etc.).

• A/E Digital Practice is the technology backbone that will support consistent SRS project execution. The practice will function as the interface between the SRS A/E, Corporate IT, and Engineering Design Technology teams, providing guidance, solutions, and leadership regarding technology and digital workflows.

• Ensure consistent project execution standards and approach.

• Robust use of digital tools to identify potential design issues.

• Standardize performance, PMP, and other reporting through intuitive digital tools.

Customer Feedback

• Collaborate with PMs and PgMs to actively seek customer feedback regarding quality and compliance.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the coordination and quality review/management of multi-disciplinary A/E projects.

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of interdisciplinary relationships and coordination between Architecture/Engineering disciplines, clients, and stakeholders.

• Understanding/experience with Design/Build and other alternative project delivery methods is preferred.

• Understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) [Autodesk Revit Architecture/AutoCAD] software (current software versions) and application project implementation.

• Understanding and experience with technical specifications software, including SpecsIntact, MasterSpec, etc. Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) preferred.

COMPENSATION
The National salary range for this position is $131,176 - $204,887. The actual salary offered will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate, and relative to salary ranges in the offering office.
