CAP Project Coordinator - Military Veterans

The Project Coordinator, CAP will perform coordination of Condition Assessment Program (CAP) projects, including engineering review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering, science or related discipline. Through broader experience and technically challenging work assignments, incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods and procedures.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepares accurate and timely weekly reports.
  • Prepares technically accurate and timely reports and other forms of communication
  • Communicates the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met.
  • Responsible for invoicing of assigned projects
  • Coordinates assigned projects with clients as well as internal stakeholders.
  • May propose technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
  • May propose new approaches to problems encountered and make recommendations for changes in methods, procedures or designs.
  • Works directly with clients on all matters related to CAP, and is the main point of contact within ABS for assigned projects
  • Monitors assigned projects to ensure maintenance of quality, content, consistency and continuity of work performed.
  • Monitors assigned projects to ensure they remain on schedule, within budget, and within scope.
  • Works as a team member within the group. Also works autonomously, once trained, with minimal supervision.
  • Creates fee quotes and proposals for new business opportunities
  • Implements and maintains ABS Quality System requirements relative to responsibilities after undergoing ABS Quality System training
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Qualifications from a tertiary institution within a relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum two (2) years program); or
  • Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship officer, and
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of statutory certification and services before assignment with future work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of related technical disciplines required.
  • The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems (i.e., the competence to demonstrate complex problem solving skills).
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Familiarity with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System (internal candidates only).
Reporting Relationships:

The incumbent will report to a senior level engineer or technical manager.
