This prestigious chair offers a unique opportunity for an exceptional candidate to lead and expand neuroscience research and education at one of the nation's top-tier research universities. As the Berthiaume Family Professor of Neuroscience, you will: Lead a world-class research program focused on innovative and impactful neuroscience research addressing fundamental questions in cellular, molecular, or computational neuroscience. Secure and manage external funding to support cutting-edge research initiatives and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within and beyond the university. Collaborative Environment: Join a vibrant, interdisciplinary community within the College of Science, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and numerous Centers and Institutes . Opportunities for collaboration with the NIH-funded Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) are also available. Qualifications: Key Qualifications: Research Excellence: A distinguished record of groundbreaking research in neuroscience, as evidenced by high-impact publications, significant grant funding, and leadership in the field. Demonstrated Leadership: Proven leadership in advancing the field of neuroscience, including leading collaborative research initiatives, serving in leadership roles in professional organizations, journals or academic societies, and contributing to the strategic direction of the field. Teaching and Mentorship: A strong commitment to mentoring and teaching excellence, with extensive experience in developing and delivering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Collaborative Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead interdisciplinary research teams, fostering collaborations across departments and disciplines. Visionary Thinking: A forward-looking approach to neuroscience that integrates cutting-edge research with societal needs, addressing critical challenges in health, behavior, and technology. Service: Experience contributing to the academic and professional community through service roles, including participation in committees, editorial boards, and professional organizations. Required Qualifications: PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree in Neuroscience or a related field A distinguished record of research, teaching, and service that qualifies for appointment in an endowed professorship at the rank of Full Professor with tenure.
