Boeing Commercial Airlines has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Maintenance Technician to join our team in Portland, OR.



As an Oregon Manufacturing Plant Electrician with a Limited Journeyman (PJ) License, you would be responsible for applying your knowledge of electronics and mechanics to install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and rework electronic and/or electrical systems within the entire plant facility.



Position Responsibilities



  • Obtain work assignments from approved sources such as tie-in, job boards, team leaders, or established shop procedures.


  • Review and analyze schematics, logic ladders, drawings, specifications, regulatory codes, and other relevant documentation for the assigned job.


  • Perform service, maintenance, upgrades, and modifications on equipment, and troubleshoot malfunctions using various methods, including: a) Consulting with operators, vendors, engineers, or other maintenance personnel to gather information on machine operations, procedures, problems, and maintenance history. b) Observing equipment and visually inspecting power sources, wiring, electronic components, and systems for defects or maintenance issues. c) Analyzing machine functions to determine if maintenance is required and identifying whether the problem is mechanical, electrical, or electronic, and developing a plan to address the issue.


  • Adhere to appropriate safety procedures and protocols, including wearing and utilizing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), and following safety measures such as Lockout, Tag, Tryout (LOTTO), Confined Space, and Fall Protection.


  • Utilize mechanical lifts, such as scissor lifts, elevated work platforms, or forklifts, to access the work area safely.


  • Disassemble and reassemble electronic components or subsystems as needed for inspection or repairs, either on-site or at a workbench.


  • Remove, repair, replace, or reprogram components as necessary, and arrange for parts to be sent out for repair or order replacement parts. Notify the lead when parts are needed.


  • Install, crimp, terminate, and solder wires using approved wiring methods. Install, repair, and replace conduit or raceways as required.


  • Utilize various types of computing systems or test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, or lasers, to test the accuracy of electronic components/systems or determine the calibration accuracy of machines.


  • Install upgraded or existing software and edit machine programs and parameters as necessary.


  • Clean electronic components and computer controls using appropriate equipment and solvents.


  • Conduct follow-up tests to ensure that the problem has been resolved and consult with the operator if necessary.


  • Create detailed documentation of ongoing jobs and communicate the status to the next shift verbally. Maintain accurate records of completed jobs.


  • Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, team leaders, engineers, and other crafts as needed for consultation and assistance.




This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.



This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications:



  • 1+ years electronic/electrical experience including related education in any of the following fields: machine tool maintenance, industrial electronic and/or electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance.


  • Must possess valid State of Oregon Electrical License at the Manufacturing Plant level or higher and/or the ability to reciprocate your state's license into Oregon.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years experience operating CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine tools


  • 1+ years experience troubleshooting and operating PLCs (programmable logic controls) preferably Siemens and Allen Bradley.




Relocation:


This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.



Shift:


This position is for 2nd shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  



Summary pay range: $47.00 - $49.98
