Heavy Equipment Mechanics - Military Veterans

Our Client is proud to design and build projects and careers. Our Client's focus requires teams that are as unique as the projects they execute. This Project's goal is the reconstruction of four large Airbase Runways under the AFCAP Contract on the Island of Tinian in the Pacific Ocean.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic service and preventive maintenance on diesel and gasoline internal combustion engines
- Cleanup and disassembly of Heavy Equipment
- Service and maintenance of hydraulic systems, transmissions, drive trains, clutches, and fluid drives, cooling systems, mechanical and power steering systems, electrical devices and systems on heavy equipment.
- Fluid Power/Hydraulic, Electrical, and Engine Systems troubleshooting
- Perform inspection on all cable-operated lifting rigs and perform all other scheduled inspections
- Other duties as assigned
- Journeymen Mechanics will have Maintenance Helpers to help with these duties
Requires ability to maintain in working order several or all of the following equipment:
- Dump trucks, Tipper trucks, Fuel Trucks, VAC Trucks, Distributors
- Tractor Trailer Rigs
- Graders, Crawlers, and Scrapers
- Rollers, Pavers, Material Transfer Vehicles (Shuttle Buggies)
- Revolving Shovels, Excavators, Trackhoes
- Loaders
- Bulldozers, D6 and above
- Trenchers
- Mobile Telescoping Cranes (150K)
- Forklifts (10K - 30K)
- Compressors, Compactors, Power Trowels, Vibrators
- Mobile work platforms
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Airport Runway/Highway/Roadwork Construction Equipment experience preferred
- Field Maintenance experience
- Basic repair experience to all types of Construction Equipment and Class A & B Heavy Trucks
- Prefer verifiable Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technology Diploma or Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic's Certification
- The Mechanic's Certification options do not have a minimum general education level beyond a US High School Diploma. This opportunity does not require a two-year college degree.
- However, qualified Mechanics have a work experience of more than 5 years'
