We are currently seeking a professional, innovative, and enthusiastic Executive Director for our West Kentucky Chapter.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: W

We are currently seeking a professional, innovative, and enthusiastic Executive Director for our Western Kentucky Chapter. This position is an external-facing role focusing on community relations/capacity building(focused on areas requiring more resiliency), fundraising, and board leadership. This candidate must be comfortable being the face of the Red Cross in the Western Kentucky Region. This position supports region-partnered mission initiatives by providing facilitative leadership to local teams and updating regional leadership on the community's needs and perceptions.  Incumbents will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with our community partners by educating them on the programs and opportunities the American Red Cross offers.  This position reports to the Regional Executive, serves as the primary liaison to the community, and is supported by Community Volunteer Leaders and the Chapter Board. 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:

Serves as the Face of the Red Cross to maximize Red Cross presence and connectivity in the community and expand the community’s recognition of the breadth of the Red Cross contribution to the community.

Develops sustained community relationships to ensure capacity to achieve region mission goals.

Develops and manages the chapter board to effectively mobilize support and resources around the Red Cross mission.

Develops and manages community volunteer leaders to serve as the Face of the Red Cross in assigned territories, support mission capacity building by developing key community partnerships, and recruit volunteers.

Influences to create an environment of teamwork and inclusion to effectively deliver against the Red Cross mission. Serves, when assigned, as a member of the Elected Officials Liaison Network supporting disaster responses across the nation.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: NA

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.

Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout territory, state, and Red Cross system.

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

A master’s degree in the field of community organization, public or business administration, or non-profit management. 

Fundraising and revenue generation experience in the Western Kentucky market.
