HR Representative - Local Project Documentation - Military Veterans

In accordance with established policies, procedures and standards, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Representative is actively involved with day-to-day activities within the Human Resources Department. The incumbent of this position will develop a working knowledge of the daily administration of the human resources function by being directly involved in various day-to-day activities, including but not necessarily limited to employment practices, recruiting, HRIS data entry, organizational structure and protocol, and basic benefits communications. Daily, the HR Representative will handle information that is of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
What You Will Do:
- Under the supervision and guidance of the HR Manager, manages day-to-day HR-related items for smaller client groups.
- Works closely with HR Manager and HR Director in coordination and execution of special projects.
- Participates with daily recruiting activities including job posting, applicant screening and selection processes, employment offers, background checks, new hire orientation and on-boarding process, and making entries into HRIS as required.
- Participates in and supports college recruiting activities as requested by Talent Management or other HR staff members. May travel as required to designated college campuses within the region along with a senior staff member of human resources.
- Produces or maintains related activity reports as required.
- Handles other duties as assigned by department managers or more senior staff members of Human Resources.
Education and Experience
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience preferred in a similar role.
- Must be familiar with various PC software programs including MS Office. Must have aptitude to learn new applications as the need arises.
- Must have strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communications skills in English as well as the local language.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize, implement and administer effectively in all areas of assigned responsibility.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of employees and outside clients in a professional and business-like manner, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
The incumbent reports to a Manager, Director or Executive level position. This position does not have any direct reports.
