Position Purpose
This role will serve as part of the Dartmouth Cancer Center Development team, under the leadership of the Director of Development, Dartmouth Cancer Center ( DCC ), focused on identifying and engaging community members, alumni, corporations, patients and families who have interest in cancer research and clinical care and an inclination towards philanthropy. The Assistant Director will oversee the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a personal portfolio of prospects. In concert with the Director of Development, DCC and Executive Director, Friends of Dartmouth Cancer Center, the position will partner with clinical and research leadership in the Cancer Center, including engaging appropriate leadership with potential individual and corporate donors, supporting the Center's participation in the physician and nurse philanthropy training program, and securing corporate sponsorships for DCC's signature annual fundraising event, the Prouty.

Experience
• Three to Five years of demonstrated success in fundraising in a complex development organization.
• Demonstrated fundraising experience and comfort cultivating and soliciting donors.
• Experience working in an academic medical system or university environment preferred.
• Understanding of and comfort with the intricacies of business travel.
• Event planning and execution experience.
