The Department of Chemistry at the University of Iowa solicits applications to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with an anticipated start date in August 2025. Prospective candidates whose research focuses on aspects of the chemistry of bioactive small molecules are encouraged to apply, with no preference for traditional area of chemistry (analytical, inorganic, organic, or physical). The University of Iowa is a Big Ten institution with an enrollment of approximately 31,500 students. The Department currently consists of 24 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, 5 instructional track faculty, and approximately 120 graduate students. We offer excellent facilities within chemistry including staffed glass shop, electronics shop, and an abundant array of shared instrumentation. The campus also provides several well-equipped Central Research Facilities ( https://research.uiowa.edu/core-facilities ). Highly competitive salaries and start-up packages are provided. Faculty within the Department of Chemistry have established ties with national laboratories, state facilities, and industrial partners, and there are opportunities for collaborations with the highly ranked University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
