Responsibilities:

A co-op at Greif will enable you to:


  • Apply academic knowledge to real-world scenarios, gaining industry experience

  • Access professional development opportunities and learning material

  • Gain clarity on your academic and career interests, as well as goals

  • Assimilate into a corporate team environment

  • Work with various mill personnel to generate and evaluate solutions for the manufacturing process

  • Understand and utilize performance metrics and production data to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Generate procedures and best practices for variety of manufacturing processes


You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in engineering assignments and ongoing projects

  • Familiarize yourself with departmental functions and the manufacturing process

  • Attend events and functions including social networking events and roundtables

  • Contribute meaningfully to performance goals and assigned projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering

  • Minimum completion of two years or more of college preferred prior to the start of your internship

  • Completed at least sophomore plus classes by the start of the co-op term

  • Good academic standing with your Engineering major and school

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Able to work 40 hours for the duration for the co-op


What sets you apart:

  • Strong academic background, with a preferred GPA of 3.5 or above

  • Understanding of basic Engineering principles and relevant functions

  • Relevant work experience or involvement with professional clubs/organizations

  • Possesses an understanding of basic Engineering principles.

  • Previous experience with manufacturing environments, statistical control, and project management is preferred.

  • Takes initiative and is intellectually curious.

  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication.

  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team

  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, time management, analytical, and adaptability skills


  • Possesses an understanding of basic Engineering principles.

  • Previous experience with manufacturing environments, statistical control, and project management is preferred.

  • Takes initiative and is intellectually curious.

  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication.

  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
