Job Overview



As a SharePoint Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the SharePoint team. The SharePoint team works with technologies such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Nintex Workflow, Nintex Forms, SharePoint Designer workflows, and InfoPath forms. Additionally, our team supports the collaborative efforts of our business supporting the SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams platforms. Once trained in these technologies, duties will include supporting existing development as well as automating business processes for our business units to help them operate more efficiently. 





This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Fall 2024 and has potential to be extended into the Spring 2025 school semester an/or Summer. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.


 



Key Job Responsibilities



•    Support administrative activities pertaining to the maintenance of our SharePoint environment and respond to production problems and outages in a timely manner.


•    Build out solutions in a variety of development tools, such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Nintex Workflow, Nintex Forms, and SharePoint Designer to automate business processes.


•    Work directly with customers to perform business analysis and day-to-day support.


•    Facilitate requirement gathering sessions to define functional and non-functional requirements


•    Apply knowledge of the business to existing and new SharePoint sites and application development, resulting in superior application usability and high-end user productivity. 


 



Qualifications/Requirements



•    Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, IT, or similar, from an accredited college or university


•    Active junior or senior level student in good academic standing


•    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal


•    Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks


•    Strong written and verbal communication skills


•    Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed


•    Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)





Preferred Qualifications


•    Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry


•    Desire to develop applications using state of the art integration platforms


•    Able to develop strong working relationships with team members and the user community.


•    Ability to connect with business users and actively teach new technologies.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.   

Our group supports field operations at the customer mine sites as well as shop operations at the Distribution and Service Centers.  A large part of our workforce focuses includes technical trades.
