Primary Purpose of Position:
Performs core functions of the Security Operations Center (SOC); monitor and remediate intrusion alarms, dispatch law enforcement /first responders to security incidents, answer and prioritize incoming emergency and routine security event calls, log personnel into substations, log and manage status of site intrusion systems. Write incident reports documenting security incidents, make notifications and maintain shift activity logs. Identify security system issues, create service requests for system repairs, and validate corrective maintenance. Perform activity specific actions as detailed in the SOC Policies and Procedures Manual, adhere to compliance requirements and perform regulatory procedures. SOC Operator position is fixed shift, 24/7.
This position is subject to up to a 6-month training curriculum period. All SOC Operators must successfully complete the training curriculum period. During this period of time, we will provide you with classroom-style, as well as on-the-job, training experiences. The components of the program will be weighted as follows: Employees will be required to complete three milestone training examinations that are designed to ensure you understand and can apply the core competencies of the SOC Operator role (weighted at 33%), demonstrate their application of the core competencies through observations of five customer calls (weighted at 33%) and an overall performance review (weighted at 34%). Employees must achieve at least a 70% total score, determined at the end of the training period, or else their employment will be involuntarily terminated. The training curriculum period does not alter your status as an at-will employee at Constellation.
Available Shift - Third Shift
Primary Duties:
Monitor and remediate intrusion detection alarms.
Answer, prioritize, and respond to telephonic security incident reporting.
Manage and log site entry/exit system disarm events.
Submit service requests for corrective maintenance of security systems, perform service ticket validation.
Perform and document system checks and video tours.
Perform forensic investigative support of video and access control records.
Perform administrative SOC tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
AA degree, or High School or GED with 2 years of Security System or IT experience.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to write grammatically correct and stylistically appropriate business communications. Ability to work effectively under high stress situations, to rapidly assess and respond to life safety and security incidents.
Demonstrated proficiency on the following systems: CCure 9000E, ExacqVision, Andover Continuum, Pelco Control Point, Compass, DMP, D3, JIRA, PassagePoint, Exelon Alert, Microsoft Office Suite, and any other systems used by SOC at the time of application.
Demonstrated knowledge of Constellation Business structure, SOC Policies and Procedures, Constellation NERC CIP Policies and Procedures, Substation Operation, and CISS Policy and Procedures.
