Join Our Team as a Folder Gluer Operator Trainee at WestRock!

Location: Greenville, TX

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a 7-day paid break every 5 weeks!

We're hiring immediately for Folder Gluer Operator Trainees to join our fast-paced team and start making an impact right away. If you're a hands-on problem solver with a knack for mechanics, this role is for you!

The Opportunity:

As a Folder Gluer Operator Trainee, you'll learn the ins and outs of our folder-gluer line, setting up and assisting in the smooth operation of our equipment. This role offers a perfect chance to work closely with a talented team while developing skills to grow your career in packaging!

What You'll Do:

  • Master the Setup: Review job tickets to determine each project's unique setup requirements, and ensure every setup meets schedule demands.
  • Keep Quality in Check: Verify that our barcode scanners are working perfectly, performing quality checks throughout your shift by testing and monitoring the scanners.
  • Perfect Every Carton: Pull cartons for inspection, checking for fiber tears, alignment, glue sufficiency, and other quality measures.
  • Accurate Record-Keeping: Track production counts, prepare labels, and ensure all forms and tags are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Stack & Pack: Load corrugated boxes with finished products onto skids, applying labels to each box.
  • Clean-Up Crew: Clear out each line after a run, lubricate and clean the gluer, and maintain an organized and tidy work area.
  • Train & Lead: Guide gluer assistants assigned to your line, sharing insights to keep the team running efficiently.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: At least 1 year as a machine operator in an industrial setting.
  • Dependability: Consistent attendance is key in our busy production environment.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Able to meet minimum requirements on a mechanical test or demonstrate previous hands-on experience.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime during peak times.
  • Skills: Basic math and computer skills, plus the ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
