Position Summary
As Senior Manager of Observability Data Infrastructure and Platform Solutions, you will take a hands-on approach overseeing the design, build, and management of our enterprise observability data platform. Your work will directly influence our ability to deliver actionable insights, drive innovation, and improve operational stability, performance, and security of our systems providing services to millions of Americans. Reporting to the Lead Director of Observability Engineering, you will lead a talented team of developers and data engineers from the front to manage and optimize existing data platforms, and build our next generation observability data lake, data pipeline, and associated data models. The ideal candidate is a player-coach, experienced at leading teams while designing, building, and managing large-scale multiplatform data solutions including platform technologies such as Splunk, ELK stack, DataBricks, ClickHouse and Grafana, and data pipeline technologies such as Vector, Ni-Fi, Cribl, and Kafka.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and manage enterprise observability data platforms and solutions, optimizing for scalability, reliability, and actionable insights to ensure they meet the evolving needs of CVS Health.
Design and implement robust, massively scalable data pipelines that integrate seamlessly with a broad array of data producers, data platforms, and security and observability tools.
Ensure all data management practices comply with data privacy laws and company policies.
Drive the strategic vision for data lake architecture, ensuring it supports comprehensive analytics and insights.
Mentor and guide a team of developers and data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and leading by example.
Stay at the forefront of data technology trends, applying best practices and introducing improvements to maintain a resilient, highly performant, cutting-edge data platform.
Collaborate with observability engineering and operations teams, business partners, service management, and IT operations to align projects and platforms with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
7+ years’ experience designing, building, and managing large scale, multiplatform data solutions, enterprise data models and data architectures, both on-premises an in major cloud providers (Aws, Azure, GCP).
7+ years of experience building and managing large-scale data platforms such as Splunk, ELK stack, DataBricks and ClickHouse.
5+ years of experience managing enterprise software development projects and contributing to software development in an enterprise environment leveraging modern DevOps practices.
5+ years of building and managing data pipeline technologies such as Cribl, Vector, Kafka, and Ni-Fi at massive scale.
Strong people and team leadership skills, with experience managing a team of highly skilled developers and engineers.
Expert on data management principles and best practices in the contexts of observability, cybersecurity, and machine learning.
Experience building AI/ML solutions to manage and extract insights from large data sets.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work on complex projects with cross-functional teams.
Effective communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Education-
Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience(HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$106,605.00 - $213,210.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
