Plumber, Journeyman | University of Idaho - Military Veterans

This position is responsible for providing journeyman-level work on plumbing and related mechanical systems for university facilities. The position will coordinate work efforts with the shop supervisor, building users and other trade groups. It will respond to, diagnose and resolve plumbing emergencies. This is an essential position that will be called upon in the event of an emergency and/or university closure. Duties may include: Install, maintain and repair all plumbing fixtures, systems and related equipment Test backflow assemblies and record results Install gas, compressed air, piping and insulation Perform minor maintenance and repairs to safety systems Maintain sewer pipes and clear blockages Winterize systems subject to freezing temperatures Test and record water quality in swimming pools Maintain and operate programmable controls for water treatment systems Other duties as assigned
