Responsibilities

Reports to: Production Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:
To remove finished product from the machines, inspect product to ensure quality specifications have been met and that all packaging requirements have been done according to production work order.

Responsibilities:
- Perform instructions outlined in the Production Manuals for Production Assistants
- Operate pallet jacks and fork trucks
- Assist operators as needed to minimize downtime during cleanups and maintenance
- Weigh and package rolls according to specifications and instructions provided on work order paperwork

- Use and complete paperwork
- Understand and follow quality specifications
- Do Q.A. clean-up
- Perform housekeeping duties on and around the line
- Maintain neat and clear aisles for product transfer and safety
- Adherence to company policies and procedures

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Must know how to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., if over 50 lbs. requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift
- Must be able to stand for 12 hours
- Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shift including holidays and weekends
- Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- The employee in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and up to 35 pounds of force frequently (more than 1/3 of the total time); if over 50 lbs, requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift.
- Must be able to stand for 12 hours
- Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shift including holidays and weekends
- Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
- Reaching with hands and arms for as much as 100% of workday
- Talking to communicate with others
- Hearing to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds
- Using arms to grasp, handle, and type
- Walking to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product
